Clones N Clowns by Aimee Wood

DIY : Barbie statement necklace

Chucnky statement necklaces are the way to go this year, especially worn with a smart jacket or under a shirt collar. I think bright accessories are perfect for a business meeting, it gives a bit of femininity to a ‘working woman’s’ outfit without going over the top or looking too casual. This is more of an inspiration tutorial than an actual project – you can use the techniques used for this statement necklace to make your own original piece of jewelry without necessarily using the same shapes and colours as I have. I hope you like it ! Necklace : DIY above Tee-shirt : Mango Jacket : IKKS Jeans : IKKS Shoes : New Look Leather bag : DIY here WAIT ! DIY : Globetrotter bag

Recently I was offered the chance to do a DIY exclusively for the French crafts site www.alittlemercerie.com. Studs are the craze this season, but the people on this site are very crafty so I needed to find them a challenge… Here is what I came up with : A trendy, studded, leather bag for the globetrotters out there ! Let me know what you think ! TUTORIAL THIS WAY (in French but with easy-to-follow images) P.S. Don’t forget to turn the BLUE button in the sidebar PURPLE by clicking on it (it won’t redirect you). This will boost my chances in the French Golden Blog Awards ! Thank youuuu ! xx – – – – – –

DIY : Studded leather clutch

As soon as I saw this faux leather clutch at H&M, I felt there was something missing : STUDS. Yes, what’s a leather clutch with no studs this season ? Naked ! So I bought it and DEALT WITH IT. Boom. Waddya think ? I used a mix of silver and gold coloured studs for a very 2012 effect and criss-crossed them in a chesterfield manor – I love the way the faux leather creased in diamond shapes to match. The feel is very Alexander Mcqueen, in fact it would have looked great with a skull in the middle of the studs ! xx – – – – – –

DIY : Long bead bracelet // Bracelet perles longues

There are so many things you can do with beads that sometimes you don’t even have to think of them as beads. Here is a cute bracelet you can make with long thin beads by simply gluing them to a piece of ribbon. Use jewelry glue to make sure you keep the flexibility of the ribbon. Line the beads up straight for a smart bangle or make them messy like mine for a more conceptual look. Leave 15cm of ribbon and glue beads for approx 10cm. Leave to dry. Cut ribbon so that there is enough space on both ends to tie a cute bow. Melt ends of ribbon with match or lighter to avoid fraying. Tie to wrist and brag that you made it ! And the result : / Et le résultat : xx – – – – – –

Shopping : Michael Kors Messenger bag

You know when somebody asks you who your favorite designer is ? It’s a bit like “What’s your favorite music”… You always end up saying “Erm… I like loads of things…”. Well next time I’m asked, Michael Kors is my answer. I am IN LOVE with this turquoise Messenger Bag as well as many others of his designs. The colour is fabulous, the chains are so now and the satchel style is the perfect back to school look ! Quand on me demande quel est mon designer préféré, je ne sais jamais quoi répondre. Un peu comme quand on me demande le nom de mon groupe préféré… “Euh… J’écoute un peu de tout…”. Eh bien, la prochaine fois qu’on me demande, ma réponse sera Michael Kors ! Je suis tombée en amouuuur avec ce magnifique sac “messager”. La couleur, les chaînes so 2012 et le style cartable – un accessoire de rentrée par-fait. On sale here / En vente ici xx – – – – – –

Spring Shades

Do you ever find that you have two items that suit each other so well and yet by essence cannot be worn together ? It happens to me so often and these two new pairs of Spring sunglasses are the perfect example. Don’t they look amazing together ?!                          Mint is everywhere at the moment, a real Twenty-Twelver. You may have seen byebyesoccermom’s DIY leather mint belt featured in Chic Steal’s links of the week (along with my Walk of Fame wedges !) or maybe you noticed it’s right there every time you click on TheBeautyDepartment.com, up in the top right corner. And red ? Well, red’s a staple. And the sexy shade is definitely enjoying the pastel phase fashion is going through this year because it stands out more than ever ! I’m consciously influenced by current trends and think these colours look grand together, but the problem with these glasses is I will always have to pick one or the other… By the way, did you notice my bright blue shelf ? I told you I was DIYing my new flat at the moment… Well this particular creation was made from a drawer I found in the street, a can of blue spray paint and a couple of belts : ) Ya like ? Hama Bead Baby

Remember playing with Hama beads ?! Well not everybody grew out of it… I have been messing around with these colourful plastic beads for the last couple of days and have come up with some funky stuff ! The story behind me getting back into this is actually pretty amazing – I recently moved into a new flat and apparently the people who lived here before me were creative fellas ! They left me a whole cupboard of exciting bits and pieces, and a great big box of Hama beads ! Previous tenants, if you are still out there somewhere, THANK YOU ! Have a look at these… PACMAN MONSTER EARRINGS
