I’ve always had the same prob with blazers… They’re too manly for me. I have two beautiful ones, ones that will stay in my wardrobe for years but that unfortunately I will not wear very often… If I had to wear one to an interview like a lot of women do, I’d just feel uncomfortable.
Racking my brains trying to understand where this weird discomfort has come from, I have come to the conclusion that they’re just too powerful for me. I already have quite a strong personality (don’t go away, the lion’s in its cage I promise !) so I think that wide shoulders and a smart look are all too much. As Marilyn used to say : “Look like a girl, act like a lady, think like a man, work like a boss”. Quite right !
I’m not sure the sex symbol would approve of my trainers though, but hey, she lived in the XXth century ! I like wearing trainers with blazers, they dress the look down, especially when they’re colourful. My DIY epaulettes were the perfect final touch, they’re super feminin so even wearing a jacket this miss don’t feel like no mister !
