A recipe from Quebec : maple syrup camembert !

maple camembert

You’ll have to agree that one of the most important part of traveling is getting to try amazing new food ! I always try to discover as many local recipe’s as I can when I’m abroad and pluck up my courage to taste even the weirdest concoctions. This one however, is nothing to be afraid of. This maple syrup camembert is pure deliciousness, anyone from anywhere could probably guess that with just one look at it ! I bought a local camembert which was extremely creamy (the cheeses here are incredibly good) and a small pot of high quality maple syrup. Add to the list a few walnuts, a couple of shiny apples and a good baguette of bread and you’re in for a feast :)

All you have to do is chop up your apples into tiny pieces, crush your walnuts a little and cut your camembert in half. Place the camembert halves side by side on a tray and sprinkle with all the other ingredients.

The camembert will melt into a deliciously creamy goo and the other ingredients with soften with the maple syrup. Use a spoon or knife and simply dig in, spreading the mix over a chunk of crusty bread and washing it all down with a glass of cider.

I urge you to try this recipe even if you never forgive yourself for the undeniable calorific intake. It is delicious and comforting – treat yourself !

Lots of love from Montreal – next stop : the city of Quebec
