Travelling alone

alone

There’s something ever so special about doing something just with yourself sometimes. We’re all so connected to each other these days that we seem to neglect this and usually prioritise time spent with others. Don’t get me wrong, I cherish time with my loved ones so much. But for the first time, over here in Canada, I’m getting to know myself in new ways : how I look at things when I’m not sharing the view with someone else, how I react to things instinctively, the places that attract me when I’m not taking into account anyone else’s opinion, needs or desires. Yesterday, I was aimlessly wandering when I found myself up high with the most wonderful view of the city ! I sat down for an hour and wrote my travel diary… So peaceful !

I’d love to hear your opinions on this : Are you used to travelling alone ? Is it something you are afraid of or something you feel comfortable with ? Moreover, is it something you feel the need to do ? I think I might try and do it more often – it’s such an emotional experience !

Lots of love from Montreal

P.S. – Remember my studded map bag in the photo above ? I thought it was the perfect accessory for globetrotting ! Catch up on the post about it here.

  1. I love traveling alone, like you said, you get to do exactly what you want, when you want and it is sometimes refreshing to me to be able to wander…

  2. I know exactly what you mean, I love spending time alone when I get the chance…it’s amazing how you can have whole conversations and trains of thought going on in your head ;)

    Have a great time !
