Trendspotting : Back to school – The goody two shoes

For the first time this year, I will NOT be going back to school. Or high school, or college, or uni, or anywhere different than WORK ! But for some reason I don’t feel all that grown up, and I still keep thinking I have to plan what I’ll be wearing on my first day back at school (YES, I always planned this weeks in advance !). The first day back at school was always an important day dress code wise. It’s either the day you meet a whole new crowd of people – and first impressions really do seem to count when you’re friend-picking, right ? – or it’s the day you show that crowd who you became over the Summer. My birthday is on September 3rd so I was lucky to always receive a new pair of shoes and a few other things I’d been desperate for and would usually turn up at school all brand new (until I went through my “brand new is uncool” phase – that didn’t last !). Usually I would follow a plan, in order to give the exact impression I was looking for – but really it was all just a bit of wardrobe fun ! This brings me to my Back to School Trendspotting series : over the next couple of weeks, let’s take a look at a few different back to school outfit ideas so that, if you’re setting foot back at high school, college, uni or even work, you too can tell them where it’s at !
